Construction underway on new homes in Market Drayton

Construction works are underway at Tilia Homes’ new Montgomery Place development in Market Drayton, following planning approval by Shropshire Council last year.

Once complete, the development will comprise of 209 thoughtfully-designed three and four bedroom private properties.The mix of homes ensures the development will appeal to a wide range of buyers, from families and downsizers to first-time buyers.

Montgomery Place is located on the northern edge of the market town in a prime location situated off the A53 and just one kilometre from the town centre. The 23-acre site has an L-shape layout and encircles existing sports pitches.

As well as new homes, Tilia Homes will also provide £1.3million to the local community via the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), an equipped play area, and walkways from the development to the surrounding town.

Ecology will be a key aspect of this development. Going far beyond the planning requirements, the scheme will feature over 27,000 sqm of public open space which will include a 20-metre undeveloped ecology zone either side of the watercourse Bird and bat boxes will feature around the development; and a 30-metre buffer zone and five-metre movement corridor will serve to protect the resident badger population.
