NHQC and Consumer Code

As a responsible homebuilder, we strive to offer all our customers the very best in service to ensure your experience with us is smooth and stress free. To help ensure we’re continuing to meet the highest of standards, we follow consumer codes. These codes promote best practice in housebuilding and that the information and customer service we provide is the very best it can be.

If you reserved your home with us on or after 2 April 2024, the New Homes Quality Code applies.

If you reserved your home before 2 April, the Consumer Code for Home Builders applies.

The New Homes Quality Code and Ombudsman Service

The New Homes Quality Code replaces the Consumer Code and supports consumers through their house buying journey.

What is the NHQC?

The NHQC champions quality new homes and better consumer outcomes. It’s main purpose it to help buyers to understand the levels of service they should expect from us as your homebuilder.

It also allows you to feel completely informed about your purchase and helps you to understand your consumer rights both before and after you’ve the keys in your hand and moved into your brand-new home.

In the unlikely event that things don’t go quite right, the NHQC offers the option to refer complains to an independent New Homes Ombudsman Service.

How does it protect me?

By signing up to the NHQC Tilia Homes is committing to:

  • After-sales service complaints process
  • Clear and truthful advertising and marketing materials
  • Contract information including termination rights
  • Effective customer service training
  • Full and transparent pre-purchase information to allow you to make an informed purchase decision
  • Home warranty information
  • Timely and well communicated construction, completion and handover

The Consumer Code for Home Builders

The Consumer Code for Home Builders is an industry-led scheme introduced in 2010 which gives protection and rights to the purchasers of new homes.

Tilia Homes proudly complies with the Consumer Code for Home Builders. If you need more information on the exact requirements of the Code, please ask a Sales Executive for a copy.
