What does the role of sales administrator entail?
A sales administrator is a crucial role. providing full administrative support to the sales team. We also help facilitate effective coordination with other functions within the business, including our technical and commercial departments and our on-site teams.
I am responsible for updating sales information and price lists, compiling sales reports, liaising with our sales consultants on site, and supporting with the whole customer journey and legal sales process from reservation to completion.
What does a typical working day at Tilia look like for you?
No two days are ever the same! One day I could be working on reservation paperwork and price lists and the next I could be helping out another department with getting the information that they need to do their role.
I have recently been involved in rolling out our new CRM system, which has been a really enjoyable and rewarding project and a change from my usual day-to-day responsibilities. As a sales administrator, you certainly need to be adaptable and have the ability to juggle a number of different tasks, but this just adds to the enjoyment of the job for me. I regularly have the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and embrace a fresh challenge.
What advice would you give anyone interested in getting into your field?
If you love to be the go-to person who is always happy to help out, then I would definitely say go for it. Be yourself and be prepared to work as part of a team, try new tasks and take on new responsibilities.
What do you like about working at Tilia?
When I walked into the company on my first day, I was welcomed as if I’d been here for years, which immediately put me at ease. You can really be yourself at Tilia and show your personality. I am lucky that I work with all the other departments across the business, so have the chance to build strong relationships.
