Darren Harris heads up commercial team at Tilia

Exeter-based Tilia Homes has strengthened its Western team with the appointment of Darren Harris as commercial director.

Darren has worked in the construction industry since leaving school, starting his career as a carpentry apprentice. He later joined Bovis Homes as a trainee quantity surveyor and progressed quickly to become surveying manager. Following the company’s merger with Linden Homes, he was appointed commercial manager for the newly-formed Vistry group.

As commercial director for Tilia Homes, Darren will oversee a team responsible for cost control, operational efficiency and the profitability of developments across the region.

Tilia Homes was created in June 2021 following the acquisition of Kier Living by private equity firm Terra Firma. Its Western region, which covers Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset, employs 70 people and delivered 375 homes in its last financial year.

Darren comments: “It was clear that Tilia Homes had some exciting plans for the growth of the Western region and the role provided me with the opportunity to shape the commercial process and really put my stamp on the business.
