Sovereign Gate’s first residents share their special experience
When newly-retired Carole and Martin Coxall decided to make the move into their brand-new forever home, they looked no further than the four-bedroom Chiddingstone at Tilia Homes’ Sovereign Gate development, in Thetford.
Combining the close proximity to the tranquil Thetford Forest with the convenience of public transport and road links, the Coxall’s moving experience was all the more special by a team only too happy to go above and beyond and another very special milestone…
“As we embarked on such an exciting new chapter in our lives, we knew we wanted to move into a new home that gave us more living space, while being sustainable,” explains Carole.
“Being newly retired, we want to spend our time enjoying our forever home, while exploring our local area and having adventures further afield. That’s why, when we heard about the plans for Sovereign Gate in Thetford, we wanted to find out more about the properties.
“Little did we know as we started our Tilia journey that we’d be the lucky first residents at Sovereign Gate, which has made our experience that much more special!”
As well as making sure that their new home was eco-conscious, Carole and Martin were drawn to the fresh new look and feel of the Chiddingstone and were keen to move into a home that they could easily make their own with choice furniture and not having to worry about any maintenance or upgrades.
Martin adds: “When we first started looking into Tilia Homes, we were instantly impressed with the build quality of the existing properties, as well as the finished Chiddingstone show home we visited at another development.
“Our minds were made up when the site manager allowed us to view the show home at Sovereign Gate before it was even finished, which allowed us to make sure that the layout was suitable before committing to purchasing.”
One of the undoubted benefits to buying new is having the assistance and expertise of an experienced team on hand.
“Laura, the sales executive at Sovereign Gate, went above and beyond to help us – often replying to our messages and emails on her days off! She liaised with our broker, agent and solicitor throughout to help make the experience as seamless as possible.
“The site team have been attentive, informative and nothing has been too much trouble for them to sort out.
“We simply wouldn’t have had this level of support if we were buying on the open market and it definitely made us feel everyone at Sovereign Gate had a vested interest in making our move as happy and memorable as possible”, says Carole.
While Sovereign Gate’s first residents have settled in swiftly into their new home, Carole and Martin have some added advice for those looking to progress on the property ladder.
From using the move as a reason to declutter the home – including those out of sight spots, like the loft – to making a list of all those you need to inform of your move, forward planning is key to making the experience as stress free as possible.
Martin explains: “Aside from a couple of pieces of furniture that will help to make our house even more of a home, we’ve settled in wonderfully at Sovereign Gate. We’re looking forward to enjoying the open space and greenery that’s been designed as part of the development and the surrounding countryside – all while being close enough to transport links to be able to visit family and friends.
“All that’s missing is meeting our lovely neighbours and we look forward to welcoming them to our special Sovereign Gate!”
