1. Amenities for everyone

If that’s not your thing, never fear, Dalton’s Way is close to a range of parks, scenic walking and cycling routes. The Beacon Country Park is your neighbour and the River Tawd makes for a relaxing riverside stroll. Nearby Tawd Valley Park, Ashurst Beacon and Abbey Lakes provide a picturesque postcard too good not to explore.
2. Active Lifestyle
If you like to lead an active lifestyle, Skelmersdale scores highly with the various sports clubs and centres for you to enjoy. Bannatyne Health Club, Haydock Park Racecourse and Dean Wood Golf Course, an 18-hole course spanning across 6,000 acres, are all within a short drive from the development. The town takes pride in supporting its grassroots teams, such as Skelmersdale United Football Club, so perfect for spending some time on the sidelines cheering them all!
3. Outstanding Education
Every day is a school day as they say and Skelmersdale has a wide choice of schools in the local area ranging from pre-school to college level education – making Daltons Way the ideal location for families looking for great schools close by. Nearby sits St James Catholic Primary School, West Lancashire College and Cobbs Brow School. All of which are under five minutes away from the development, with good and outstanding OFSTED ratings. Other schools include Hope High School and West Lancashire High School.
4. Staying Well Connected
The North West has so many great towns and cities to explore and Skelmersdale has travel routes to match. The M58 sits right by Daltons Way leading onto the M6 providing easy connections to Wigan, Liverpool and Preston all just under 15 miles away. Upholland Railway Station is eight minutes away from the development with direct routes to Kirkby in 15 minutes, and Manchester in just under an hour. The town also has a bus service that offers regular routes around the town.
5. Steeped in History
Skelmersdale has a rich history and heritage. The infamous coal mining town is understood to be a Roman resting point stated in the Domesday book. Interestingly, the town was separated and Skelmersdale became a ‘new town’ during the industrial revolution making the town just 61 years old, after they celebrated their 50-year birthday in 2011 – what better place to take in the perfect blend of the old with the new!
